This afternoon, Leigham competed in the finals of the Year 5/6 Plymouth Argyle in the Community Clusters League. Our team played some magnificent football against some tough opposition and deservedly made it through to the semifinal without conceding a single goal along the way. Although we narrowly lost the semifinal, we were incredibly proud of how well the team competed. Well done Team Leigham 💛💙⚽️
Traditional Times!
This week is #BritishScienceWeek! We have been celebrating all things Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
This year, the theme was 'time'. Each of our year groups were set a challenge based on a traditional tale.
Have a look below to see our fun investigations!
This afternoon, a Year 6 football team competed in the Girls’ U11 Football Cup at a very wet Marjons! The girls were sporting our brand new football kit supplied by Premier League All Stars. The team were terrific, particularly with a resolute defence which only conceded two goals in the whole tournament! With a bit more luck in front of goal, the girls could have easily turned some draws into wins. They represented the school magnificently and Mr Bradley, Mr Easterbrook and Mr Wren were extremely proud of them. Well done Team Leigham!
Year 1 have had a fantastic afternoon with their grown-ups for their learning together session today. We were blown away with the children's reading and their ability to crack the code! We hope that the grown-ups had just as good a time as we did!
Year 5 were lucky enough to be joined by parents and carers to help with their DT project.
The children had great fun and worked well as a team with their adults- showing some excellent delegation!
Thank you to everyone who was able to make it.
Year 4 were joined by their parents and guardians to help the children complete their design and technology unit on sewing. The children (and grown ups!) were making wallets by using either a running or blanket stitch. The pupils also had to include a type of fastening to close the wallet. They all showed great skill and with the addition of some embellishments, the final results were fantastic.
A fantastic team of 12 Year 1 children attended the multiskills event at Tor Bridge High School. The children were put through their paces across a variety of activities and clearly rose to the challenge as they were crowned the overall winners! Mrs Outtram and Mrs Harrison were thrilled with how well they did and how well they represented the school. Well done Team Leigham
Foundation children really enjoyed showing their grown-ups the types of activities they enjoy everyday in the classroom. They loved sharing the ocean theme with them and were able to impress with all that they have learnt so far at school. Thank you to everyone for coming and making it such a success.
This morning, some of our KS1 children visited Clip n Climb which was funded by MKC Heroes. They challenged themselves on the variety of walls followed by a buffet lunch. All children are very grateful for this experience. Thank you to everyone that organised this fantastic event.
This afternoon, a team of year 5 and 6 children competed in the latest round of the Plymouth Argyle in the Community Cluster League. The team played some great free flowing football in all 3 matches resulting in two wins and a draw. An organised defence also meant that the team didn’t concede a single goal all afternoon. Their performance and attitude was amazing and they have deservedly won an invitation to come back to the finals week next month as well as some Plymouth Argyle water bottles! Well done Team Leigham
