Miss Gregson, Mrs Burgess, Mrs Walker and Mrs Blaik are eager to begin this term with your children!
During this term, your children will continue to build on their friendships and use their independent skills in all areas of Nursery life. We are also very excited to start the NELI Preschool trial with Oxford University, which will help all children develop their vocabulary and storytelling skills through the use of some beautiful stories. We will be sharing some ideas linking to our NELI learning for challenges at home on Tapestry so please do keep an eye out for these!

Does everyone have a pet at home?
Using a range of ‘hooks’ including familiar books and interesting photographs, the children will explore a range of Ocean themed activities including learning about Ocean creatures, habitats and human impact. We know that children are more likely to engage with their learning if presented with meaningful contexts and have a keen interest in the subject matter. Therefore, staff remain open on the path we take to explore new concepts and skills.
Staff are always willing to discuss ways in which you can help your child at home. Feel free to ask if you require some inspiration or ideas about a specific area of learning!
In Nursery, we follow the Master the Curriculum scheme for mathematics. The table below shows how the scheme helps to build the children's understanding.
Don't forget book bags are needed EVERY Wednesday. If your child wants an extra opportunity to become the 'Reading Champion', please upload 'book experiences' on Tapestry by Tuesday evening of that week! All children are given the opportunity to be 'Reading Champion' as we look to recognise the children enjoying books while they're with us!
