Curriculum Intent
At Leigham Primary School, all children (regardless of need or barrier) will attain optimum physical and emotional development and good health. We will deliver high-quality teaching and learning opportunities that inspire all children to succeed in physical education and in developing life skills. We teach children how to co-operate and collaborate with others, to improve their wellbeing and fitness, and underpin the values and disciplines PE promotes.
Curriculum Impact
Our children will be motivated to participate in a variety of sports through quality teaching that is engaging and fun. From our lessons, our children learn to take responsibility for their own health and fitness, many of whom also enjoy the success of competitive sports. We equip our children with the necessary skills and a love for sport. The intended impact will be that the pupils will grow up to live happy and healthy lives utilising the skills and knowledge acquired through PE.
How are we raising standards for our children?
- Identifying pupils who are inactive and provide Change 4 Life opportunities.
- Investing in high quality resources and team kit to raise the profile of PE.
- Delivering a comprehensive and diverse curriculum which is differentiated to meet the needs of all the children.
- Student voice is encouraged through feedback questionnaires and student leadership roles.
