Hidden Gem
Our school, set in 7 acres, sits above the Plym Valley and has fantastic views to the south. It is located in the centre of the community of Leigham and is only 5 minutes from the A38.
The grounds are beautifully maintained and offer great facilities for outdoor learning, sports and playtime. The main sports field hosts a range of sports and has an 80 metre running track with a 300 metre track around the outside.
The vegetable garden, the pond and the chicken run are all popular and looked after by our children, so there is always plenty to do and lots of fun to be had.
Learning
We are a well-resourced school with a high level of adult support in order to facilitate our drive for excellence and high aspirations for each pupil. All our staff endeavour to ensure that the educational experiences for our pupils are inspiring and appropriate. Children are encouraged to be active learners and curious about the world around them. Pupil voice plays a large part in planning. As well as ensuring excellent grounding in the basics of literacy and numeracy, a key focus is to develop pupils as learners.
Learning experiences are designed so that each child is fully aware of their successes and next steps in learning and are able to develop at their own personal rate. A real ownership over learning is fostered and nurtured. This, combined with an exciting and relevant curriculum, means that pupils are enthused and positive about their learning experiences.
Everyone Cares, Everyone Matters
The school building is on one level with easy access for wheelchairs and we have disabled toilet facilities. Provision for all pupils, including those with special educational needs and those who are gifted or talented, is tailored to their needs and aspirations. The individual nature and talents of every child are recognised and valued. We believe that diversity is a strength which we should celebrate and respect
I am so glad my children are with you. I think the SLT are wonderful, approachable and involved in the children's journey. I love that they are out every morning and after school.
We are very pleased we chose Leigham Primary School for our daughter. All staff are friendly and approachable. I have never had any concerns with the school, but I have no doubt if I did, they would be health with swiftly.
